Happy Anniversary Dude!

I realized the other day that the 30th anniversary of my graduating from art school had passed this Spring. The sad thing is that this marker has the distinction of being almost meaningless except for the obvious passing of years. Life may have actually started after I got my MFA several years later because that involved some element of education at a higher level (where you read books) and also a little vocational training. Let's face it, art is now a profession, not simply a lifestyle. It is a trade where you have to be a hard-nosed to approach the bare minimal amount of success (like any job). Happily, now these ambitious goals are achievable without a complete forfeiting of identity. The soul is another matter.
